Day 10 - Final Spinal Tap for a few weeks

So, we got out final spinal tap for a few weeks done today. No problems (we got it in Interventional Radiology), which is great.  We were an add-on, so we were grateful that they got us in by 4ish and done by 5ish.  One of the good things with IR is that he sleeps so well when he's coming off the anesthesia.

Ryan is still spiking fevers, which is expected with the chemo drugs.  However, he did grow a 'staph epidermidis', which could be an actual infection and could be a contaminate of the culture.  Patrick will talk to the doctors tomorrow and see what they are thinking.  They did change his antibiotics to Vanco and Ceftaz, although, as his fevers are continuing, I'm thinking that there is no infection to treat.  We'll see how the next group of cultures do.

He was emotional and cranky this afternoon before the spinal tap, but all was good once he got his 'sleep meds' from anesthesia.  The docs all find it funny that he likes the anesthesiologist so much... Once he got back to his room, all was good.

Last chemo for the week is scheduled for tomorrow, and then he should be good for his 2 week break.  We're all looking forward to that.

Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts!
