Quick clarification and answers to questions...
Wow, you guys are all awesome. Thank you for your support and prayers and love!
A couple of quick clarifications and answers to questions:
So, yes, this is cancer, but it's also very treatable. Ryan will be fine. Chemotherapy will probably suck, but in about a year, he will be fine. He's not going to die any time soon!
Only Patrick and Ryan will be staying out in Seattle. The other kids and I will remain here. Patrick and I will probably switch off over the summer, for a week or two at a time. We'll probably plan a family trip out there. But Allen, Connor, Kathryn and I will all be in school tomorrow.
Ryan is at the Seattle Children's Hospital. It's where we go for clinic visits and anything having to do with his transplant, so we know the hospital and some of the team. They have been excellent for the last 6 years (since we left our UCLA family), and have been treating us very well
At this exact moment, we are doing okay. This is kind of the shock phase. We are still waking up in the morning and going about our days. District music was yesterday and I'm in town today getting groceries and watching Allen's play. As we found with our previous experiences, life does not stop just because you're going through hell. So, you just keep going.
For those of us who have been on this journey a little longer than others, Ryan has been very sick, more than a few times. We've been in positions where we've been worse. This is treatable and we will be fine... I don't believe in anything else.
