Getting the apartment together...

Ryan got to spend most of the day with a 'sitter' while Patrick drove around Seattle getting furniture and other stuff for the apartment.  He was able to use the Car2Go service in Seattle, where you just pick up a car, drive around and park it, and you only get charged for the time you use it.  It worked out great.  He got the keys to the apartment, set up the electricity, arranged for the internet (the most important part), spent way too long (and way too much money) at IKEA, and met some new neighbors!

Ryan enjoyed his 'sitter' (who I think was a local college student) and apparently had a great time.  No meds today and no procedures, so it was a Lego/Movie day.  I'm sure he's looking forward to getting his math books, right?

The doctors want to keep track of his glucose (hence the Band-Aid on his finger from a finger stick), to make sure his pancreas doesn't have any problems.  All his numbers look good and he's doing fine.  The doctors are thrilled that we have the apartment, so we can control the germs around him.  While he's dealing with Chemo, they want us to limit his exposure to other people, and this will work out great.

We are still considering Monday for discharge (which gives Patrick time to put together the furniture!), although it will obviously depend on how he reacts to Saturday's dose of meds.  But so far, the doctors are cautiously optimistic.  After all, it IS Ryan...

As for me, I got a much needed nap today.  We got the yellow car fixed (thank you Steve!) and had an awesome meal provided by Shannon Foster.  Kathryn and I LOVE the Samoa ice cream... (I forgot to thank Holly for Friday's meal, Anna Marie for Monday's meal and Meredith for Tuesday!!)  We are getting pretty spoiled here and it is greatly appreciated!!  It seems that I'm coming home from school and spending hours on the phone or doing some errand or event, which leaves precious little time to do silly things like cooking dinner.  You are all so amazing!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and good thoughts!
