We got an apartment! :)

Today was a pretty boring day for Ryan... He played with toys and slept and hung out with his awesome nurses, while Patrick went apartment shopping...

He found a place about 2-3 miles away from the hospital online yesterday, and got an appointment with the landlord this afternoon.  He walked from the hospital (to see how bad the walk was) up to the apartment.  The landlord showed him a few options and he picked the 1 bedroom with enough room in the living room for Ryan's bed.

Our new address in Seattle is:

Ryan (or Patrick) Simpson
4545 8th Avenue NE, Apt #103
Seattle, WA  98105

The landlord was really nice, and she said we could have furniture or stuff delivered and she'd make sure it got put in the apartment if we were still in the hospital.  Really understanding!

We get our next dose of chemo tomorrow, so hopefully it goes as well as the one last Saturday.

We had our Geyser Junior/Senior Banquet tonight, which was wonderful.  The Geyser Booster Club did a great job with good food and good friends.  I got to present the Scholarships and the Speech and Drama awards, which always fills me with pride.  I was doing just fine, until Lois said she was having the Raynesford Blood Drive on Ryan's behalf.  I was still fine, I got up and walked to the mic to present the awards. Then I looked out at the crowd and all our friends, and I lost it.  The family said I pulled it together, but I think they were just being nice.  I'm sure it took a good minute to stop crying, and then another five minutes to explain to the crowd why I lost it.

It's one thing to know that Ryan has cancer.  It's something else to write it down, like I do on this blog.  And it's a whole different thing to say it out loud in front of all our friends.  Perhaps it's that 'denial' stage of grief.  As long as I stay positive and keep busy, I can keep the tears and fear at bay.
But, as always, people were kind and understanding.  We are so lucky to be here.  Thank you to all our friends and family for helping us through this.

I just keep reminding myself that this is another trial that we will endure.  And, in the end, we will all be stronger.  Thank you, as always, for your prayers and good thoughts...  We love you!
