Day 12 - Boy, do we like morphine...

Just want to sleep today... okay, we can do that... |
The current theory from the docs is that he is probably just reacting to the chemo drug. The expectation for 'side effects' is essentially the worst flu you've ever had. He feels crappy and simply wants to sleep most of the day. So, between the IV Tylenol and the Morphine, he is sleeping through the worst of it.
In addition, they got some Albumin and Lasix, so the swelling is pretty much back to normal. Patrick spent a few hours in the morning, went back to the apartment to work for a few hours, and then came back in the evening. Ryan said, "Hi dad. Go away." and fell right back to sleep.
Even though he feels crappy, everyone is pleased with his tolerance and his attitude. His kidneys and liver are amazing, and he's just getting through this phase. The conversation with the doctors was so positive, they attributed some of his success to the amount of prayer we have going for him. I couldn't agree more!
So, thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

Platelets were down to 20, but came up to 27 today. Not the 75 we would like, but we're grateful for the increase.
Hematocrit is up to 23 (from 18), which also makes us very happy!
ANC is up to 430, still bad but moving in the right direction.
what a character -- Hi Dad--go away--he just wanted to sleep, glad dad was checking on me but now that he did, leave me alone!! I know when my brother went through the bone marrow cancer treatment, he said he was so tired of being sick and tired of being tired, he wanted to give up, but his wife kept his spirits and determination to get better up, know you all are doing that for Ryan AND all the prayers from all over the country ARE helping and we will keep them coming. LUV U all
