Day 36 - We like our freedom!

Showing off our Legos |
Ryan was running a little warm today, probably because the apartment is not held at a constant 68.2 degrees. Of course, that prompted Patrick and I to continually take his temperature for about 2 hours, making sure it didn't get any higher. It just went down to normal and he was totally fine. But it was a reminder of how quickly we could go back to the hospital.
We did find out that our Lovenox levels were actually higher than expected, so we were able to drop the dose from .9 to .8 cc, which isn't much, but I'll take any decrease in his dose. They will re-check these levels in a few days.
We ended up purchasing a 'transport chair' from Amazon this afternoon, which should be here by Tuesday. Ryan was so weak, he could barely walk from the apartment to the car. We got a wheelchair at the hospital for his labs, and then brought him back home. He also has some significant swelling on his feet and ankles, so we are having him do more leg lifts and exercises to try to get some of that fluid back to the rest of his body. (which is kind of hard to do when you have no energy)
While I headed out to Target to get more containers and supplies, Patrick and Ryan hung out at the apartment, where Ryan quickly finished another Lego set... I also got a new label maker, and I've been busy organizing our medical supplies... oh the joy!
We're trying not to talk about the fact that I'm flying home tomorrow. Ryan will really have a hard time with me leaving, and it won't do much good to remind him at this point. It's hard to leave, but I know I'll be back out soon. And it helps to know that Grandma and Grandpa will be out on Monday.
Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts!
------------------------------------------
I have no lab results, because we are not inpatient! (woo hoo) I should have some results on Monday. :)
Kind of like getting out of jail, all that freedom and now where to go! I can't imagine how week he is, wow nothing but sitting or laying in a hospital bed for over a month? helping with leg exercises aren't fun on the patient either, but one of those necessary "evils". Visited with Greg and Ann last night at church (yup changed to 6pm) they are looking forward to seeing him, even though their visit will be short, it still helps all involved! they are such special folks, which you already know :) safe travels for all and you are all still in my prayers and best thoughts. LUV U all
ReplyDeletejust realized I didn't proof read very well, so excuse the spelling of week, didn't sleep well last night, if that is an excusable reason??
DeleteHe looks happy! Pretty flowers outside the window. Nice time of year to be in Seattle!
