Day 79 - Finally saw Wonder Woman...

We finally made it to see Wonder Woman today.  Ryan had a good time, and was 'fighting bad guys' the rest of the day.  He continues to feel good, even willing to get lunch AND hit the grocery store after the movie.  (the last two movies, he was wiped out by the end of the movie).  He's also playing games and legos, rather than just watching TV or movies, which I think is good since it's more 'active'.

We have another chemo infusion tomorrow (Sunday) morning (ugh, 8am... who plans these things?), which will leave us the rest of the afternoon free.  I'm not sure what we will end up doing, maybe just coming back to the apartment.  I only have a few more days here before I head back to Montana, so I'm trying to make the best of it.  I think the 'boys' have gotten into a good routine and Ryan is getting more and more independent every day.  He asked for Zofran this afternoon, but otherwise hasn't asked for any other pain or stomach meds.  And we're pretty well organized for his TPN IV stuff.

I'm sad to be leaving, but looking forward to seeing the other kids.  It's amazing how much I miss them!

    that is amazing and wonderful and prayers are still be answered :) That Ryan is getting stronger all the time is sure fantastic, we prayed for him, again, at mass last night -- we all sure miss him (and you and Patrick) We had almost a full church!! 4 from Geyser, besides the usual ones from GF and Stanford. It was hot in there, even with two fans going, but it was hot outside too --100 degrees, a month too early for that stuff :( You enjoy the day, LUV U all

    I love this pic! So much energy and fun in the whole group. Everybody looks vibrant. (I usually see more of a blend of the two parents in the kids, but Ryan really looks like his dad here.) Glad you all enjoyed the movie! XOXO, Aunt Jen

Today - Sept, 2018 So, this is day 500.  500 days since we found out Ryan had Leukemia.  It's been a very strange year and a half, and you all have no idea how much I appreciate your support and your prayers.  For the last 500 days, I have posted an update every evening. Day 490 - A bit smoky

We've mostly recovered from our emotional day yesterday, only to wake up to a very smoky day.  We decided that Ryan could plant his flowers another day, as he probably shouldn't be outside too much on days like today.  So, it was a video game inside kind of day (after our school work was finished, of course!) We got a call from our Great Falls oncologist, who spoke to the Seattle team about Ryan's low magnesium numbers.  They want us to get labs tomorrow, and probably a bolus of magnesium to get him through the weekend.  Depending on his numbers, we might come in next week as well until the TPN can get this right composition of mag (there is a shortage right now). Hopefully, these fires can get under control and the air quality can get back to our beautiful Montana weather, so we can enjoy the outside again... Day 498 - Visit to Ft. Benton

I spent the day in Fort Benton with my mom and her friend... It was nice to spend the day walking around the fort and the museums, and just enjoy the beautiful day. Ryan stayed home with Patrick, so it was kind of a break day for him as well!  He woke up late and didn't have to worry about his school work all day... But, he will make up for the missing work tomorrow... One of the side benefits of homeschooling! His belly has completely closed up, now that he's been without the IV chemo for 2 weeks or so.  It looks great and hopefully will stay that way for a while.  We don't have another spinal tap until October, and I don't think we have the week long IV chemo for another few weeks.  Just enjoying feeling good!
