Day 88 - Clinic, OT and PT

The boys got to spend about 5 hours at the hospital today.  They met with Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy for about 2 hours.  After they finished all the stretches and the exercises, the therapist asked why we were seeing them.  He was doing so great!  We just wanted to make sure that all continued to go well, so we'll see them again in a few weeks.

Next, they got to get labs and see the nutritionist and the oncologist.  The oncologist was amazed at his belly, how quickly it is healing.  Apparently, the surgeon told her it would take 6-12 months to heal.  That was 11 days ago.  Only Ryan...

The oncologist was also amazed at how well his body is handling the chemo.  She said that she usually gets a specialist (Kidneys, Liver, GI, Heart, Infectious Disease, etc) telling her to slow down and give less chemo because the kids bodies can't handle it.  In Ryan's case, he's not having any trouble with anything...  Everyone says "keep going!".  So, that's what we're going to do!

The boys got to Skype with the family this evening, so Ryan could see his aunts and uncles.  He was so happy to see them!  He told them all about his movies and his belly and his Legos!

They finished the evening with a walk down to Trader Joe's to pick up pepperoni... Apparently, that was what Ryan wanted.  The store is about 3 blocks from the apartment, and Ryan walked the whole way, with no problem.  He's awesome!

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

  1. Ryan is amazing, must be in his genes, as I personally think his whole family is amazing. He wants to get well so he can come back to God's country. Please let him know I miss him, especially at mass :) and he even has more than one picture and all smiling. Prayers still coming your way. LUV U all
