Day 91 - Still nauseous but home
(Patrick didn't get a picture today, as Ryan looked and felt like crap. So he asked me to put a nice picture... like a puppy... You're welcome.)
So, after hanging out in the ER for a few hours last night, and saying they would admit him, the IV nausea meds must have kicked in, as he stopped throwing up. So, sometime around 5am, they decided to send Ryan and Patrick back home to rest. He did great today. It seems the IV meds must have helped as he was able to sleep for about 5-6 hours without throwing up. Patrick has gotten back on a routine of oral meds to stop the nausea. Ryan is also getting a little Oxy to help with the stomach pain (probably cramping from throwing up too much).
It's hard, but they are working through it. He still had some nausea today, but it wasn't as bad. He went to bed early. It's possible that this is a virus or a flu (picking something up in the hospital? Never!), as Patrick isn't feeling all that hot either. Poor boys.
Clinic is schedule for tomorrow, so Patrick is going to talk to the docs about getting some IV nausea meds that he can give at home. Usually, they don't let parents give IV meds, but this might be an exception. The other option is to have the meds available at the ER, so he can just come in and get his dose (which is a pain, but an option).
Hopefully, his labs are still good tomorrow and I really hope he feels better in the morning!
And a special Thank You to Lois Hill for the amazing Bailey's cake... We had it for dinner (ok, for dessert) tonight, and it was a big hit! :)
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts... We're getting through it...
