Day 104 - Hiding from the heat
So, Seattle decided to have a heat wave, which just kinda sucks. Ryan doesn't react well to heat (possibly from spending so much time in a climate controlled hospital room when he was a baby), so we tend not to go outside when it's hot.
To be fair, it's only about 95 degrees, which isn't the worst heat, so we really shouldn't complain. We did manage a quick trip over to Trader Joe's in the morning, before it got too hot. He really enjoyed the walk and I love that we're getting some exercise. Ryan really wanted a bag of lemons, but we are trying to limit the acid in his tummy... I can't see how adding more acid would be a good thing, so I got to be the mean mommy and say no. He got over it... He's actually doing really well when we are explaining how his food intake has to change due to the cancer treatment. He has even taken to drinking water instead of iced tea, until we are sure it's not going to affect his gut. What a great kid!
We spent the rest of the day in the air-conditioned apartment, playing legos... We're 6 out of 7 packages done with his Rogue One Fighter Jet, which is an insane project. But, he's having fun, getting some fine motor skill exercises, and making a very cool plane. No complaints!
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

this heat is insane. it was cool (70s) here yesterday :) nice of a nice change, and will stay in the mid 80s for a while!! When we went from McCall to Grangeville, which is in the mountains, yes in the valley but still---it was between 100 and 105, could not believe it--temp was 95 in both towns. Thank God the air conditioning works in my black bomb!! Glad Ryan is feeling so good, that is an answer to lots of prayers. He always seems like the kind of kid that if you explained something to him that he didn't want to do, once he understood it, he accepted it! Just give him the reason and it made sense :) LUV U all
ReplyDeleteWow! It's hotter up there than it is down here in SoCal. What's up with that?
