Day 106 - Normal life stuff

Today was a pretty normal day.  The weather has cooled a little, meaning that it was only in the low 90's instead of the high 90's.  We decided to get out of the house, so we took a drive and got some errands completed (Ryan wanted a new shelf to store all his lego creations...)  We drove up to Chick-Fil-A, as we haven't been to one in years... it's still really good chicken.  Ryan saw the play-place and started to go inside.  I had to remind Ryan that 1) he's too old for the play-place and 2) it's full of germs and he has cancer.  "Oh yea, sorry mom.  I forgot."  Only my kid could forget he has cancer.

Then we came back home and put together our new shelving unit, and proceeded to complete 2 more (previously started) sets of Legos.  We still have 2 big projects, but they are kind of intimidating after the time it took for us to get the Star Wars project done.

I also got my new curriculum books in the mail today, which means I have at least a week to get him started on his new school work.  He was unimpressed (oh, come on mom... it's still summer... I have work to do on my legos... jeez...), but still listened to the history book and finished his math work.  I think we'll be fine...

We haven't made it over to the zoo yet, but the weekend should be in the mid 80's, so we might try on Saturday or Sunday (before our Chemo on Tuesday)

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

  1. That sounds like a great day for the 3 of you. Oh yes and Ryan forgets he has cancer--why should a little thing like that stand in my way, but yes, mom you are right :) what a kid, just love it. have a great weekend and oh yes remind Ryan that lots of schools are already started--especially if he lives in NV or AZ :( don't imagine that will impress him though!! will remember you all in the prayers at mass tonight. LUV U all

OH YES, we got a little rain last night, not a lot but to just dampen the grass is a help--the cows like it a lot better when it is softer and doesn't hurt their tongue as they eat it!!!
