Day 125 - Doing great!

The doctors never cease to be amazed by my son.  He's doing great today.  His ANC came up a little (up to 66), and his platelets are back up to 84.  And the cultures are not growing anything.  Rather than continue to give him meds to force his numbers up, the oncologist said she would like to see how his body reacts on it's own.  And, she is adjusting the 'plan' again, which means right now, we really don't have a clue how the rest of his treatment will look.  But, we are going with it, and just so grateful.

The doctors said we could get discharged late this evening (like 11pm, because that would be 48 hours), but we all decided that was silly and we'll go home tomorrow morning.   Ryan said he didn't care, as long as he has his Xbox and Surface.  Patrick spent a few hours with him this evening watching movies, and promised to be back early tomorrow to take him home.

In addition, the doctors were telling Patrick today how easy it is to take care of Ryan and how much they enjoy him and our family.  That really, really makes us feel good!  It's funny how little compliments like that can help our outlook and our attitude!

Today was also the day I brought Allen down to college.. A little emotional, but I think I am just so grateful that he is grown into such an amazing young man.  I must have done something right?

Thank you all for the continued love and prayers and good thoughts!
