Day 134 - But I wanna help!

Ryan was quite annoyed when Patrick told him that he couldn't inject his chemo (he needed to let the nurse do it).  To be fair, he really enjoys being a part of his treatment.  But, there are rules.

Needless to say, both Patrick and the nurse got a kick out of it.  And he did get over his annoyance a few minutes later.

All is going well.  The took electrolyte labs today (which were all normal), but avoided taking the blood labs (CBC).  Patrick and I both feel that they are intentionally NOT taking labs, because if they got low numbers, they would have to stop the chemo  (Yes, I am just kidding!)  He is still feeling great and there is no reason to suspect that anything is going wrong.

The drug he is getting (Cyterabine) is the one that Patrick thought was causing trouble last time.  However, he is not have any negative symptoms, so we are just crossing fingers and praying that he continues to feel good.  Patrick said he was a little bit warm this evening, so if he ends up spiking a fever, they will head over to the ER for cultures.  But no one would be surprised with a fever after 4 days of chemo, and they probably won't have to be admitted.

Ryan gets the next 2 days off to rest and chill out, until clinic on Monday.  Patrick said they will probably not hit the movies or anything out, both to let him heal and avoid germs.  I think they are both getting bored, but that is to be expected.

I booked my flight back out there this evening (I'm heading out in mid-October), so now we have a date to look forward to (even if it is 6 weeks away).

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
