Day 153 - Oops... dad forgot was day it was...

Awww, isn't he sweet?
I got a phone call this week, moving Ryan's appointment from Friday, the 22nd to Thursday, the 21st.  We've been trying to convince the hospital that it's better to call Patrick than me, for the obvious reason of that I'm not in Seattle.  But, my name and number is still first on the paperwork, so I still end up with phone calls.  So, I made sure to tell Patrick on Monday or Tuesday (I can't remember which), that our appointment had changed to the 21st (Thursday).  Cool, fine, no big deal.  I probably should have caught it when we talked yesterday, and Patrick said "I have to get to bed early because we are waking up early for clinic tomorrow", but I didn't.

So, this morning, Patrick and Ryan got up and headed over to clinic, only to find out the appointment was for tomorrow.  This prompted a phone call to me, quite irritated, asking why I told him the appointment was today, when it was tomorrow.  It took us both a few minutes to figure out that today is the 20th, not the 21st.  He was quite sheepish when he called back to apologize for getting mad at me.  I thought it was hysterical.

Holding up the wall... just in case...
The doctors and nurses took it all in stride and took his labs today and even met with him for a few minutes.  All his labs look good, and they want to look at them again on Friday.  We cannot say enough nice things about Seattle... They have been taking such good care of us, even today asking if Patrick was sleeping enough (since he can't figure out what day it was).  When you are going through something like this, the days all run together anyway...

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts!!

  1. that is too funny, well maybe not at the time. there are weeks like that -- days do get confusing. But Patrick is at his computer every day and the date is there--if he wanted to look at it !!! But it sounds like the hospital is pretty friendly and caring. It all worked out anyway, but still funny
Prayers continue to be sent up for all of you LUV U all
