Day 216 - SO HAPPY!!!
We had the most amazing gift today! The doctors told Patrick on Monday that he was able to leave for the week, so they could come home for Thanksgiving... We decided to keep it from Grandma and Grandpa (to surprise them) and it was such a great surprise!
The boys took the train from Seattle, so Patrick didn't have to drive. They got the last tickets out of Seattle on Tuesday night, so the train was full. However, we splurged on the 'roomette', which was tiny but so awesome. Meals included and the opportunity to sleep in privacy. It's so worth the extra few dollars (and it was the only thing left.. we didn't have much choice)... They arrived in Shelby around noon today, and I was able to meet them there and take them home.
We had Ryan just walk into the grandparent's house and say 'hi'... They both looked a bit stunned, but very happy after the shock wore off. He loves spending time with them (and their movie room), so we were more than happy to let him stay the night with them.
So, after resigning myself that my family would be split up for the holiday, I actually have my entire family home with me... It's a gift I couldn't have asked for, but was somehow granted!
I didn't get any more pictures today, as I was just too happy living in the moment. But I will be sure to get more with all 6 of us tomorrow. The boys are only here until Sunday, but I am just so stinking grateful for any time we get.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts! (They obviously are doing something!!)
