Day 221 - Platelets are finally up!

The boys made it back to Seattle this morning.  The train was delayed outside of the Cascade mountains due to faulty error messages (ahh, those silly computers).  They sat for about an hour, trying to decide if the engine was really overheating... it wasn't.  Apparently, they turned it off and turned it back on again, and all was well.  I mean, jeez, I could have told them that!

Once they got back to the apartment, they decided to head over to the hospital to pick up some medications... Once there, they got their labs drawn early (it was scheduled for tomorrow) and found out that the platelets are up to 81!  Woo Hoo!!  I knew that good Montana air was going to help!

We should be all set for chemo tomorrow with a spinal tap.  Ryan is still feeling great, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't decide to come down with any bugs from the people he was exposed to over the week.  I think we were pretty careful about hand washing and sanitizer, so I'm going to be optimistic that all is good.

Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers!!

  1. Yah, that good Montana air did the trick--they could have come back several weeks ago and did that :)
Love the picture of Ryan with his grandparents, those smiles say it all.
Yes, hopefully no bugs tagged along, Connor said he was staying at a distance :(
    LUV U all
