Day 228 - Chemo and Coco!
The boys had an early morning of chemo. Platelets were a little low (around 65), but they went ahead as planned. Ryan is starting to get a little achy in his jaw, which apparently is a side effect of the chemo. But, it wasn't too bad. They had a good chat with the doctors and got released before noon.
They headed out for lunch and then went to the movies. Since school is still in, the movies were pretty empty, which was great. They both really enjoyed 'Coco', but Patrick said the 28 minute preview 'short' of Olaf was horrid. Oh well, Ryan didn't complain!
If all continues as planned, they have more chemo this Friday. He seems to be handling this round of chemo a little better than last time, which is so awesome. Hopefully, they can stay on schedule. Of course, 'on schedule' means that he's getting chemo the day before and the day after Christmas, but that's okay. We learned really early on that December 25th is really just a day, and we can celebrate any day we want. We don't really have plans for the holiday yet, but we'll figure it out as we get closer.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

so glad that he is still on schedule for his chemo. a movie at noon!!! and no kids with all kinds of germs there :) Christmas is just a day (well a very special day) but it can be celebrated anytime--my Christmas is celebrated when the grandsons can be here--a few years ago it was Jan 10th, as that was the first time both boys could be home at the same time!! Prayers that Ryan doesn't get too sick from this round. LUV U all
