Day 240 - Much better today!

So, Ryan has always been a little strange.  He reacts to medication very, very quickly.  Once we figure out what the right medication is, he really starts to get better quickly.

As you can see from the picture, the swelling is down to normal, and he feels much better.  Patrick said that the belly still looks raw, but actually is better than yesterday.  The doctors are amazed.  A 'normal' person might be dealing with these problems for weeks before seeing any reasonable positive improvement.  In Ryan's case, it's days.  Gotta love this boy!!

The nurses said that they removed the peripheral IV from his hand this morning.  With the blood thinning medication, he was bleeding quite significantly, so they had to keep pressure on it.  Ryan was having quite the time arguing with himself... "Now, Ryan, you have to keep the pressure on."  "Oh come on, really?  I mean she didn't really mean it, did she?" "Yes Ryan, you are a good boy.  Do the right thing." "Ok, fine.  But I want more Legos"  "Maybe later..."  (apparently, he went back and forth with himself for a good 10 minutes... the nurses were rolling on the floor laughing... not really, it's a sterile environment, but no one wants to roll on those floors)

Patrick said that Ryan was really nice to him when he got there, and they enjoyed some games together.  He said that was the best example of Ryan feeling better!  Obviously, all of the prayers are doing something!!  We will be starting Chemo medications tonight at half dose, and see how that goes.  Everyone is so encouraged!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and good thoughts!!
