Day 241 - Rosy cheeks!
Patrick sent me this picture today, and I immediately asked what was wrong with Ryan. Patrick said "Nothing, he's fine." I then asked, "But he is all red??"... "That's because he has some color back in his cheeks, and he's not all pale and sickly."...
It's amazing how little things like that make me laugh. I sometimes get so used to the bad stuff that I don't know how to handle when things are going good. Ryan had a great day. His belly is looking better every day and the doctors are cautiously suggesting that it might not rupture after all. His counts are all much better (his ANC is up in the 4000's, which means that his immune system is back to working again).
Most importantly, he's feeling so much better. He's joking with the nurses and laughing with is dad, and just doing great.
I got tickets for Kathryn and I to head out to Seattle for Christmas (Connor and Allen chose to stay here and spend time with Grandma and Grandpa). So, while my family will be split up over the holidays, at least no one will be left alone.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
