Day 260 - An early morning phone call...

Reading directions, not smelling my armpit... :)
Well, I knew it would happen, I was honestly surprised that it took a week.  Ryan gave me a call this morning... and when I say this morning, I mean 1:00 am this morning.  I was, of course, fast asleep, as I had to be at work this morning.  The call went something like:

"Hi mom, sorry to wake you."

"Is everything okay?"

"Yes, I have blood."  (this may have been more descript, but this is what I remember)

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I have blood.  But the nurses are taking care of it."

"Okay.  So, you're okay?"

"Yep!  Sorry to wake you up.  So, what are you doing in your class today?"

"Uhhh... I'm not sure.  It's 1 in the morning, Ryan.  I'm sleeping."

"Oh, sorry to wake you."

"Ryan, why don't you go to sleep?"

"Oh, okay.  I have to work on my art project tomorrow.  Goodnight, mom!"

To be honest, I'm pretty sure there was a few more sentences in the middle, but I can't remember them.  It turned out that there was a bloody nose, but he was fine... Not an unusual thing for Ryan.  Patrick thought it was hysterical.  He asked Ryan later today when he went to sleep, and he claims that he went to sleep right after he talked to me.  So that would be a good thing!  He's been going to sleep sometime around 7-8am, so it would be good if he got back on a 'normal' schedule.

ANC was still in the 300's today, but it hasn't gone back down.  So, we are taking that as a good sign, and are still hoping that he makes it back up to the 750 mark by Monday-ish.

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

  1. OMG what a kid, good thing you are used to his comments !!?? good thing you knew who is was or it would have been scary, middle of the night phone calls usually are. Yes, it would be nice if he keep the days and nights like "normal" folks, not like his dad :) Oh well such is life. Praying that his numbers come up so that this part of his book of life can continue
    LUV U all
