Day 307 - All looks good

We got our spinal tap today with no complications or problems.  And we got the results from the biopsy that was taken yesterday... everything looks great!  No rejection at all.  There was a bit of inflammation, but that was expected with all the nasty drugs we are giving him.  If anything, the doctors were impressed that it didn't look worse.  So, that means we are back on track for our big nasty chemo drug tomorrow.

The oncologist is keeping a really close eye on Ryan this week.  If all goes well, we will have the infusion tomorrow (Thursday), and watch him over the weekend.  In the mean time, they have switched the IV blood thinner back to the shot (he has been on this for years, so it's back to normal routine here).  And, the plan will be to discuss discharge early next week.  He's been inpatient since early December, so it's really, really time to get out.

With this nasty chemo med, we are planning on getting it every 2 weeks (ish), with about 3-4 days of inpatient.  Then we get to hang out at the apartment for the 10(ish) days between doses, assuming that he doesn't have any complications.  We expect to get a total of 4-5 doses of this med, so about 2-3 months more.  I think both boys are really ready to get back to reality (hehe.. ok, Ryan never wants to be in reality...)

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
