Day 311 - Higher liver numbers and nausea
Ryan was feeling really nauseous today. He called and let me know that the nurse was giving him some medicine to help his tummy. He also had some heat packs to try to keep the nausea at bay. It helped a bit. However, a few hours later, we realized that we had stopped one of his nausea medications (Protonix), because it counteracted with the chemo drug. But, since he only had the one dose of the chemo, he could get right back on the anti-nausea med, which really helped. I do like that he can just call me anytime...
At the same time, his liver numbers are more elevated today (Total bili is up to 7). The oncologist has removed any medications that might affect his liver and we are watching carefully. It's not surprising, but it does make us a bit nervous. We will continue to watch those liver numbers and the doctor said we could talk about discharge once those numbers stabilize.
Patrick called to let me know that it was 'snowing' and 'cold' in Seattle. I laughed at him. Our roads are like ice skating rinks and today was the first day above freezing in a while...
Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts!
yes, I bet it is nice that he can call you anytime and let you know how he is doing--well maybe not at 2 in the morning though!! Praying that he is feeling better and the liver numbers go back where they belong.
