Day 328 - Thank you!!
We received an anonymous package today... with a totally amazing Lego Porsche 911! Ryan was over the moon! This amazing package has motors and moving parts and is so awesome. Ryan immediately went online to see what the building process was, as he wanted to make sure he did it right. Whoever sent this generous gift, thank you!! He can't wait to dive in!!
The biopsy was scheduled for today. The pulmonologists (lung doctors) wanted to also flush out his lungs (this is kind of creepy, as they have to stop you from breathing to flush saline into your lungs... kind of like drowning, but controlled... yes, he was under anesthesia, so he didn't know what was going on). They decided to do the flush first, along with some cultures, before poking into his lungs. But, as luck would have it, once they flushed his lungs, there was so much saline in his lungs, they couldn't get a good picture to do the biopsy. Typical. But, we did get some good pictures from the flush and the cultures are already coming back negative. They will try again for the biopsy on Friday, to give him a bit of a break. As much as I hate delays, I do appreciate the caution. The doctor showed Patrick the images, to explain how he couldn't see anything and wasn't comfortable going in for a lung biopsy on Ryan without clear pictures.
So, we have a few more days to hang out at the hospital. No worries, with his new project. Ryan was pretty wiped out after the anesthesia wore off, so he will probably sleep until tomorrow anyway.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts! And an extra Thank You to our anonymous donor! :)

wow that is quite a Lego project, so how long will it take for him to build that? Glad the lung flush went well, praying that the biopsy is also good news. That sounds scary the way the flush is done, but I was talking to someone else the other day that their kids had that done also!!
