Day 394 - Ryan's Confirmation
Although Ryan is already 14, we hadn't gotten around to getting him confirmed (in the Catholic church). Our local priest is leaving at the end of June, and we really wanted to have Ryan confirmed with our priest, who knows him and has watched him grow over the last 7 years. So, we asked if we could do a special confirmation today. We've realized in the last year that we should do all the things we want to do now, rather than waiting until 'someday'.
As many of you know, our faith is very important in our family. When plans go wrong (which seems to be quite often lately), we tend to throw up our hands and just go with it... After all, there is a reason for everything, right? So, I'm so grateful that Ryan was able to have this special day to express his faith. He was really excited this morning, and was adamant that he had his rosary with him (as you can see around his neck). Thank you so much, Father Paul!
Afterwards, we had a great lunch in Belt with the family, and then just relaxed the rest of the day. Tomorrow, we'll have some family time, before Patrick's surgery on Tuesday.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
