Day 417 - Clinic and Ultrasound

We woke up early for an ultrasound.  With the 'clot' issues back in January, we wanted to get a follow-up of his neck, to make sure the clots hadn't gotten worse.  Everything looks the same, which is good.  He has a few little 'calcified non-occlusive' clots in his jugular (where his line is placed), but they aren't causing any problems and look exactly like they did 6 months ago.  In other words, the probably won't go away until we get rid of his line, and until then, no one is all that concerned.

After the ultrasound, we came back to the apartment for a few hours, before we had Oncology clinic this afternoon.  As we have been away from the Seattle oncology team for almost a month, they were anxious to put eyes on Ryan and just confirm that he's doing fine.  Of course, he was silly and slept though most of the appointment.  In other words, he's fine...

We have another clinic appointment tomorrow with our GI/Transplant team.  Otherwise, we won't have another Seattle appointment for a month.  Our current plan is to pack most of the apartment tomorrow before clinic, and finish up Wednesday morning and head back home.

Patrick actually ate food today, and while he's still pretty weak, it seems to be staying down and he should be over the worst of it by tomorrow morning.

And, (perhaps best of all), Kathryn is home safely from Italy.  Her flight got in late yesterday to Calgary and they drove back to Great Falls this morning.  I'm so relieved that she had an amazing trip and is back home with no problems.  I'm sorry that I'm not home to give her a hug, but we'll be back soon!

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

  1. I knew the clinics would go great--so much so that I didn't note that the blood drive the 26th was in honor of Ryan :) he is still in my prayers, as are all of you.

Glad Patrick is getting better--just in time to help drive!!
