Day 420 - Not exactly how we planned.
So, after getting home very late (or early, depending on how you look at it), we all slept in until almost noon. During the drive, Ryan started complaining a bit that his belly was bothering him. Around Coeur d'Alene, we stopped for dinner, and noticed that it was leaking through the hole in his belly. (the hole had closed up about 2 weeks ago, but perhaps with the extra chemo this week, it was just fitting that it opened back up). We put gauze over it for the drive, and everything was pretty much okay.
This morning (once we finally woke up), we called Seattle to let them know that the fistula had re-opened and ask how they wanted us to handle it. They asked us to go into town for a quick CT, to make sure that everything was fine. It wasn't on our list of things to do today (which included unpacking the truck and trying to find a place for all the things from the 'other house'), but no worries.
We got an appointment with radiology to get the CT, but there was some confusion and we didn't get all the contrast we needed before they closed. So, we had to go over to the ER to get the CT scan. Then, we had a small problem with the CT scan, and his line was damaged. There were no central line repair kits available, so we had to clamp off the damaged port, until we could get a repair kit. It took a bit of time, but the boys finally got out of the ER by 9pm, and got to get dinner.
We should get a call tomorrow or Saturday, when the repair kit arrives, to head back in to get his line repaired. Until then, he's fine, we have the second port so he could still get his TPN. He even got some time this evening to play games with Allen before he heads back to Bozeman.
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

OMG nothing is normal for you folks, a trip home is not what you planned, then the trip to GF takes longer and things don't go right. Come on now, lets get back to normal--but come to think about it, that is normal for the Simpsons!!
