Day 425 - New Line! :)

Ryan got his new line today!  We got up very early (the alarm went off at 4:45, which is just insane..).  I decided to go into town both to be there if anything went sideways, and to stop at urgent care for my flu-ish thing.

We had to scrub Ryan down with this medical grade soap before he went into surgery, so he got a nice shower this morning (you have to let the soap dry before rinsing off, so he was a bit perturbed with standing cold in the shower, but oh well).  Then we drove in and got him checked in.  Surgery was scheduled at 6am, which means that we finally got to take him down to the OR around 7:30.

I headed over to urgent care around 8ish, where the very nice NP explained that I had bronchitis, but he couldn't really tell if it was viral or bacterial.  Viral usually will clear up on its own, but bacterial needs antibiotics.  So, I got a Z-pac and some steroids, to help my body heal.  I'm still coughing, and my throat is still sore, and I still slept most of the day, but hopefully, things will be better for me tomorrow.

Ryan's surgery ended around 8:30, and the doctor said it was 'easy'.  I love that.  His new line is specifically rated for the CT auto-infusion pump they have at Benefis, so it shouldn't be a problem to get his CT scans here in the future.  And, the new line even has rating and size information printed on it!

Post-Anesthesia, Patrick was able to get Ryan up and moving in record time (mostly by bugging and poking him until he got mad).  We were discharged by 10, which is just crazy.  We stopped to get my meds and grab some breakfast/lunch and headed back home.  Ryan went to sleep for a few hours, which is pretty normal post-anesthesia.  When he got up, he wanted food... :)

Since all went well, we are heading to Missoula tomorrow for Connor's orientation.  It looks like Roger's Pass is closed, so we'll head through Helena (assuming there are no problems that way), and stay for a few days.  It's hard to believe my second is already starting college. I really don't know how I'll get through this next year, but if we can survive the last year, I'm pretty sure we can get though anything!

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
