Day 435 - No schoolwork for Ryan!
As it was raining on and off today, Ryan spent most of the day inside. Grandma asked a few times if he wanted to do his schoolwork, as mom was coming home tonight and she expected some work to be accomplished. His comment was, "We are already sooooo grounded, one more day won't hurt!". Ahhh, my son, the realist! I've informed him that for each day this week that he didn't get any work done, he will have to complete 2 days worth of work next week. At the moment, he's okay with this plan, but I expect some complaints once next week starts!
Patrick and I are home safely from Butte. My conference was a lot of fun, but also very cerebral, so my brain is filled with new knowledge. We skimmed over the entire year curriculum in 5 days, and it was so much information!! Awesome, but I'm looking forward to a few days of vegging in front of the TV binge watching Netflix...
We also drove up to Missoula to pick up our new car this evening. (If you don't know Montana, this is kind of nuts, but also just kinda the way we do things... Butte to Missoula is about 120 miles, so about an hour and a half. Then Missoula to home, through Helena is about 250 miles, so about 4 more hours). We arrived home around 1am, after leaving Butte around 4pm (since it took about 90 minutes to finish the paperwork and go over the car, and another hour for dinner). As the 'good wife', I let Patrick drive the new car home while I drove the old one... he kept calling me (interrupting my singing at the top of my lungs, which I can never do when people are in the car with me), to let me know how AWESOME the new car is... He's also now informed me that he will chauffeur me anytime I want to go somewhere.... We'll see how that goes!
For now, I'm just looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and getting my life back to normal. Ryan is doing great and has enjoyed his time with the grandparents, but I hope he's a little excited to see his mom and dad!
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

ReplyDeleteRyan can sure talk Grandma into doing things and not doing things :)
There was a good crowd yesterday for daily mass in Belt followed by coffee and cookies for a kind of small welcoming for the new priest. good thing I brought lots of goodies!
CU in church today --- I was going to say for Father Paul's last mass here but he has been talked into filling in for the new "fellow" when he is gone to Calgary to visit relatives! :) :)
