Day 463 - Art projects

Ryan spent most of the day with the grandparents and the aunts, so we got a late start on his school work.  No problems, he did great!  We finished the night with an art project.  Our history book is covering ancient Egypt, so we decided to make a clay seal.  I even brought in Patrick to help!  They had a great time, and it should be dry by tomorrow.

On the medical side, his belly is still giving him trouble.  The fistula (ostomy) has still not closed, and actually seems to be getting a bit worse.  Because he has so much scar tissues around his belly, the ostomy bags don't stay on very well.  And, because he's 'independent' now, he keeps trying to cover it up with gauze and tape, which makes it break down the skin worse.  We're going to put a call into Seattle, but we think that since we are still giving him chemo (daily orally), it might be causing it to get worse.  The last time we had a long term ostomy (which granted was about a decade ago), it contributed to line infections and other complications.  Hopefully, that won't be a problem this time.

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
