Day 473 - This is why we don't plan things...
We drove into Great Falls early this afternoon to have lunch and clinic and chemo. While we were sitting at Fuddruckers (where Ryan loves playing his Alien Armageddon game), we got a call from clinic letting us know that they couldn't get the chemo drug we needed for today's dose. We thought we had this all figured out last week, but apparently, when the company says "it's on it's way", they didn't really mean it.
We then got a call from Seattle, letting us know that they put us on the schedule for next week, and "Why don't you just come out for the week and get his chemo there?". We tried to explain to them that a week long trip to Seattle is expensive and annoying and we didn't want to do it. But we would never actually say that to them. We asked if we could talk to clinic again and see if we could get the med.
At clinic today, we chatted with our doctor and the pharmacist, and hopefully, they will get it by Wednesday this week... Best case scenario, we put off the chemo for a week, and get to have all 5 doses next week in Great Falls. Worst case, they can't get it and we have to drive back to Seattle for a week to get it there. Keeping our fingers crossed!!
The good news is that Ryan gained weight and his labs were perfect. ANC was about 1600, platelets were about 110. He gained about 2 pounds, so the 5 day TPN seems to be helping. And his belly looks great. Even with the scheduled 'heat wave' in Montana, we are going to enjoy this week!
Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!

I love the good news, that his labs are great, hate the bad news that the supplier did not ship the meds. That is horrible. and yes a week I Seattle is expensive and really unnecessary -- I guess I don't have patience for incompetence -- mine or anyone else's :(
