Day 495 - Moving right along

Ryan woke up, took his shower and got started on his school work right away.  As you can see, he's even smiling.  I'm not sure what changed, but he isn't fighting me and he seems to be having a little fun... Who knew?

I donated blood today at our blood drive.  It was pretty busy, so I hope we met our goal.  Afterwards, I had a great night with the girls at book club.  It's so nice to spend an evening with good friends (even though I didn't read the book!)  Hopefully, with all my free time now, I might be able to read the book for next time!

Labs are scheduled for Thursday, and everything seems to be going good!

    Your little boy is growing up, eager to do home work and smiling doing it!! Or is he trying to brown nose mom for something :)
    We were one short of our quota for the blood drawing, but still so proud of our little community. 25 registered and 23 could donate! AND we were short several regulars that just could not attend.

Today - Sept, 2018 So, this is day 500.  500 days since we found out Ryan had Leukemia.  It's been a very strange year and a half, and you all have no idea how much I appreciate your support and your prayers.  For the last 500 days, I have posted an update every evening. Day 25 - So much fun Skyping the school!

What a treat!  We set up Skype at the school today (tomorrow is the last day of class), so Ryan could see all his classmates.  He wasn't feeling all that well to begin with, but as students kept coming in to say hello, he got more and more excited.  "All My Friends!"  We had the students come in groups of 2-3, so to not overwhelm anyone, so he got to explain a few times about his Lego planes and helicopter, etc.  I'm sure his appearance was a little bit of a shock for the younger students, but they were great!  Such a great treat for Ryan!  Thank you so much Sue Neumann and Megan Hansen for working with him and letting him get a chance to say hello! Day 499 - Movies with the grandparents

Ryan headed up to the grandparents after lunch this afternoon for a day of movies and fun!  He stayed up way too late last night, and slept in this morning until about noon... spoiled kid, but I guess it is Saturday. He's feeling really good and it looks like his belly isn't causing any trouble.  And, with the new TPN, we don't have to do 2 infusions per day!  Woo hoo!
