Day 269 - No picnics on the hospital floor.

Ryan got busted today.  Apparently, he decided to take his lunch to the floor for a picnic.  (I can feel my nurse friends cringing right now)... the hospital floor is kinda gross.  We've already learned that we throw away things on the hospital floor.  But, Ryan wanted to have a picnic on the grass, so he decided to have it on the floor.  Ewww...

Patrick came in and saw him on the floor, food all spread out, enjoying his lunch.  Unfortunately, daddy had to ruin it by making him get all cleaned up (he needed a shower anyway).  Meany...

It was about this time that I called and checked in, so I heard all about how mad Ryan was... But he got over it.  I explained that if he wanted a picnic on the floor, he needed to ask his nurses for extra clean sheets, so they could keep the ucky germs out.  He seemed to understand, but was still mad at Patrick for giving him a shower.

After he kicked Patrick out, he called me and we had a good chat.  I found a book that he might enjoy, so I read to him on video chat for about a 1/2 hour.  He snuggled in bed, on the phone, and seemed to like it.  After chapter 1, he told me that he was going to work on his project, but could we do it again tomorrow... I think that can be arranged...

We started the next round of chemo today.  The nurses are still amazed at his stamina.  Most patients are violently sick or at least really tired after getting the chemo.  With Ryan, you can't even tell that he's had it.  Thank God for little things like this!!

Thank you all for the continued prayers and good thoughts!
